About Christoforos Balabanidis

Born in Athens in 1952. In the 1970s he began to be active in the field of painting, taking his first steps timidly. From 1982 to 1985 he studied at the "Free Veloudaki Painting Workshop", under the guidance of Professors Theodoros Pantos and Petros Koufovasilis.

The subjects of his compositions vary. From the historical movements of Cubism and Surrealism, to compositions depicting fantastic landscapes, drawing everyday objects many times with geometric shapes. In recent years it has been limited to larger and simpler forms, under the pretext of ships (Tankers) for the creation of works.
